Excess Baggage Fees

The applicable rate for luggage weight exceeding the free baggage allowance varies by sector.

Ski Equipment

A set of ski equipment, including a pair of skis, ski poles, boots, and a snowboard, or a standard pair of water skis or slalom skis, will be charged as follows:

  • Weight Concept: $50 per ski set.
  • Piece Concept: The fee for skis as an additional piece will be 50% of the applicable excess baggage rate (per piece).

Note:

  • The fee applies even if it remains within the free baggage allowance.
  • Acceptance is with 'Limited Liability'.

Golf Equipment

The policy allows for one golf set (max 15 kg) to be transported free of charge if accompanied by a passenger. If the weight exceeds 15 kg, the applicable excess baggage fee will apply.

Surfboard Equipment

Surfboards longer than 200 cm will be classified as windsurfing boards.

The fees will be as follows:

  • Weight Concept: $50 per surfboard set.
  • Piece Concept: 1st piece at 50% of the applicable excess baggage rate (per piece); any additional piece or size exceeding 2m will be charged at 100% of the normal excess baggage rate.

Note: The fee applies even if it remains within the free baggage allowance.

Jet Ski

Air Congo will not transport jet skis.

Bicycle

Normal excess baggage rates will apply even if it remains within the allowed weight/pieces.

How to Pay

Excess baggage fees must be paid at the airline's sales points:

  • At check-in.

Excess Value Baggage Fees

If you wish to declare the value of checked baggage, the valuation fee will be $0.50 for every $100 or portion thereof.
The acceptance of baggage declared for value will be limited to Air Congo destinations only.

Oversized Baggage

Fee of $3 per kg.
